Working with unfired bricks from local factories (in the NC Piedmont) I plan a composition, then carve, glaze, and single fire the bricks to about 2000 degrees F. Then I can install the bricks just as one would typical construction bricks-- as a mural in an interior or exterior wall, around a door, window, or fireplace, as a fountain, bench, planter.... It's a great, flexible medium with a history that reaches back across millenia.
